CNSUK members presentating at BNAC study days

Members of the Centre for Nepal Studies of UK presented their research results in the 14th Nepal Studies Days held in Liverpool John Moore University on 14-15 April 2016.

Dr Chandra Laksamba (with Krishna Adhikari, Lokendra Dhakal and Dr Sangita Shrestha) presented, “Which Direction are We Going? Social Mobility and the Nepali Community in the UK: A Case Study of Fairfax Road, Farnborough”.

This presentation comes from the on- going research on Social Mobility and Ethnic Minority project funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Dr Krishna Adhikari and Prof David Gellner also presented a separate paper on “Applying Bourdieu in Nepal: Adapting Distinction to a South Asian Context.”
