This year’s CNSUKs summer Retreat was held on 05 August in Reading. In the programme CNSUK’s members reviewed yearly activities, inter alia : translation and publication of the report on Gurkha Pensions Policies into Nepali language; publication of open access Journal of the Global Nepali Diaspora; Motilal Singh Master’s Dissertation Scholarship to graduate students in Nepal; and CNSUK’s public policy engagement on ex-Gurkhas’ outstanding issues related to pay, pensions, and welfare. Future activities ranging from comparative youth study on Nepali and Sri Lankan Diaspora to improving coordination, networking and linkages with the academic institutions and forums were discussed. Financial reporting was presented at the end. A separate meeting of the Executive members also agreed to extend the term of Mr. Lokendra Purush Dhakal as the Executive Director for further two years. The summer gathering, branded as the retreat, was participated overwhelmingly by the CNSUK team members, their families and guest participants.
