Coinciding with the date of CNSUK’s establishment, on the 11th June 2017 CNSUK is holding a workshop programme on: ‘Political and civic participation: experience and way forward’. In the workshop, we the CNSUK is trying to bring as many of the 19 UK Nepali community leaders, who contested in the past UK local elections, as possible,to share their first-hand experiences in UK politics.
Attempts also are underway to bring two serving MPs from other communities to share their experiences on the challenges and prospects of the ethnic minorities to establish themselves in the British political system (local or central) and civil society.
Through extensive participatory group discussions, the workshop aims to come up with a coordination mechanism and formulate a future strategy for the benefit of the Nepali community regarding political and civic participation. The outcomes of the workshop will be shared with you and your organisation at a later date. CNSUK has already organised a workshop on the Future of the Nepali Youths in the UK in 2016.
